Make-up Masterclass: Shootproof
BareMinerals Frame and Define Brow Styler
How often do you catch your face in a new light and suddenly notice so many things wrong with your make-up? You have streaks of foundation on your jaw, your eye shadow isn’t blended properly and your eyebrow pencil is completely the wrong colour. This last one is a huge bugbear of mine. Streaks and dodgy blending are usually caused by bad lighting and being in a rush, but there is a real lack of good eyebrow colours on the market. Even the most popular brands rely on caramel honey shades that are far too warm for natural brow hairs. Bare Minerals eyebrow pencil is a godsend for my kit. The long-lastingtwist-up pencil comes in two shades for light and dark brows, and both shades have a cold grey undertone with no hint of orange to mess with your brow. Choose a colour slightly lighter than your own eyebrows and sketch little hairs into the gaps to even out the shape. The pencil even has a little brow comb on the end to soften the effect and keep hairs in place. Brow perfection!
Emma Hardie Amazing Face Morning Balm
Emma Hardie’s brand comes from a personal struggle and a desire to heal. After an illness, Emma spent years researching how natural ingredients can regenerate the cells of the body, eventually channeling her findings into a natural skincare brand. With only18 well-thought-out products in the range, the Moringa Balm is the most well known and over the past few years has become a cult classic among the best beauty bloggers and magazine editors. It can be used to sooth irritation and moisturise skin, but one of my favourite uses is as a cleanser. Massage the balm directly into your face, working into eyelashes to remove even waterproof mascara, and use Emma’s beautiful microfibre cloth soaked in warm water to remove the balmy mess with downward strokes. I wash my face once to remove make-up and a second time to deep cleanse the skin, and within a month of using the Moringa Balm I have visibly clearer pores and nourished skin. Absolutely balmy dahling!
